Palm Pre and Apple iPhone 3GS

The Palm Pre was launched on June 6th, and Apple was hot on its heels with an incremental upgrade to the iPhone 3G – the iPhone 3GS (“S” for “speed”) – released with much fanfare on June 19th. The Pre is touted as a worthy competitor to the iPhone and even an “iPhone killer” by some but that is surely debatable.

Ultimately, whether you choose an iPhone 3GS or a Pre as your main go-to smartphone, they both are exceptional devices with their respective strengths and weaknesses. We will now compare the Pre and the iPhone 3GS head-to-head so you can get a good idea of their similarities and differences, and in the end, hopefully you will have a better feel for which one is right for you, assuming you haven’t committed yet to one or the other. Either one is a winner, in our opinion. So without further ado, let’s dive in and compare!

Card Mobile Phone

I’m not certain how small cellular phones are going to be in the future. Pretty soon, they will be as tiny as the one that Ben Stiller had in Zoolander.

Case in point: the card mobile phone, which is a cellular phone that is the size of a credit card. Well, it is the length and width of a credit card, but it is thick as a stack of three credit cards. That is thin enough to slide into the pocket with your Visa or MasterCard, and it weighs in at 1.3 ounces.

In case you are concerned about the lack of buttons on the card mobile phone, dialing is accomplished by navigating an onscreen dialpad, and it also comes with a built-in voice dialer. This is a dual band GSM GPRS that has about 200 minutes of talk time. The screen is either color or monochrome, and the credit card phone is waterproof.

It would appear that the user can put his or her personal message on it. Someone must be very proud that he or she won the CTIA Emerging Technology Awards.

The Card Mobile Phone will be available in June or July. Rumor has it that it will hit India, and then the United States.

Verizon Wireless makes HTC Touch Diamond official

It is interesting to note that not all cell phone releases are done on a worldwide basis, and even stranger is the fact that selected handsets which are rolled out on one continent might take months or even over a year before it arrives on other peoeple’s shores - case in point the iPhone amongst numerous other handsets. Well, for those who are loyal to Verizon Wireless through the years and have no intention of switching mobile carriers, good news if you’ve been hankering after the HTC Touch Diamond. This handset will be readily available from today onwards via business sales channels and online at www.verizonwireless.com. The HTC Touch Diamond has been marketed to be the “ideal productivity tool for busy professionals”, although we’re pretty sure the hip and happening crowd won’t mind signing up for one since it does come in a rather fashionable design.

Sony Ericsson W205 Walkman PhoneAudio/Video Gadgets, Mobile Phones

Imagine an alternate timeline, where cellular phone technology has been perfected and cheaply mass-marketed in the early 1980s instead of the late 1990s. In this reality, a cellular phone is built into every Sony Walkman.

Perhaps this would be an era of the Sony Ericsson W205. It would be a time where tracks are played with the album art with ID3 tags on a 1.8 display screen, and TrackID would name the tune and artist would you would play on the included FM radio.

LG Arena now in Titan Black

lg-arena-tmob

LG’s Arena cell phone has been out for sometime already, but this time round T-Mobile will be rolling it out in a new Titan Black edition which will be available as an exclusive and only on T-Mobile tariffs. Also known by its model number the LG KM900, this handset will feature the exact specifications as found on the original silver edition, as the only change would be the exterior case, although calling it Titan Black might not do the color justice as the exterior case leans more towards a gun metal finish. The black color will also do its part in setting the handset apart from many other silver cell phones that have proliferated the market, giving business-minded folks yet another option to consider when it comes to upgrading their cell phone.
